Holiday Stress is No Match for This Routine

The time leading up to the holidays is stressful for many. College students are finally done with exams, people are traveling to see their friends and family, and there’s the anxiety of your oven possibly blowing up from cooking so much (maybe it’s only me who has that fear?). While all of this is what makes this time of year so magical, don’t forget to take a breather when you can.

Start by throwing in a hair mask (The Innate Life mixed with manuka honey) and tie up your hair to pamper your skin a bit. Remove makeup with Juice Beauty’s Cleansing Oil on dry skin and hands to breakdown all the sparkly Glossier Lidstar and then double cleanse with Juice’s Brightening Gel Cleanser. Add a layer of Drunk Elephant’s Babyfacial to your skin to chemically exfoliate all your holiday worries. Take the time it’s working those AHAs and BHAs into your skin to light Nest’s Holiday candle and teach yourself how to cross-stitch. This may sound like such an old lady thing to do but trust—I learned how to do it in a matter of two minutes and I’m very close to finishing a masterpiece graced with none other than a chubby Santa Claus. After about twenty minutes, rinse off the Babyfacial to reveal a whole face. If you need some extra hydration due to the dry winter air, use Farmacy’s Honey Potion mask and massage until it turns white and then relax and do some more stitches for ten minutes. Hop in the shower to remove the mask and rinse the mask out of your hair. Use Plant Apothecary’s Calm Down shower gel to get clean and breathe that stuff IN. The aromatherapy from the lavender oil is sure to soothe stress--holiday or not.

Emerge from your water chamber stress-free with skin that’s merry and bright. Now, get out there. You have holiday cheer to spread. As for me, I’m going to be eating peanut brittle and laughing every time my three-month-old niece passes gas.
